'Vasambu' botanically known as Acorus Calamus
is something all new moms keep handy in their kitchen. It helps to treat all
problems related to digestion in children predominantly. Vasambu is available
in various forms in market
- Vasambu cut into small pieces and
tied together using a thread will be available in all 'Natural Medicines
Shops'. It can be tied around the wrist of babies/ infants(like how my son is wearing in the picture). By doing so
the child either keeps licking or smelling the vasambu throughout the day
and ensures proper digestion of food/milk the baby in takes.
- Vasambu sticks can also been
heated in lamp fire till it turns black. After allowing it to cool, rub it
gently over a rough uneven surface to obtain a black paste. Add one or two
drops of oil to the paste and apply it around belly button of the baby.
This ensures that the baby recovers from any gastric trouble.
- Also vasambu fragrance room spray
available in some shops can be tried for overall health benefits for the
entire family.
