3 Steps To Make A New Born Sleep For Full Night.

How To Make A New Born Sleep For Full Night

'You can make your baby sleep for full night but not yourself'. I wanted to start my article with the above statement , because you can only make your baby sleep throughout the night. However you have to wake up for every two hours to feed your baby.(Mine used to feed for every two hours. But the time gap is different for each baby). I know its kind of difficult , so I am adding this statement also. 'Around one year of age your baby is going to give you undisturbed nights'.

Imagine your six months old baby wanted to play for continuous two hours with you during the night. This would put yourself and your baby under lots of pressure. To avoid such problems just follow few simple steps FROM DAY ONE. Having said that, I also know that it would take few days for the self recovery of yourself. So you can probably start implementing the following steps  after a week of delivery. But Do Remember. 'The Sooner You Begin The Safer you are'.

1. Have a Routine for Bed Time.
Babies always love Routines. Just have a simple Bed Time Routine that is easy for you to do regularly. Suggestions are like Playing with your baby, Making her/him wear his/her night dress and diaper if using, saying good night to the family members, feeding in low light and then putting her/him down to sleep. How ever many kids sleep while nursing. But its highly recommendable to put them down to sleep separately either in bed or in a cloth cradle or what ever you use.
2. Give his/her 's Night feeds in Dim Light.
Generally, New Born will wake up for every two hours for their feed even in the night like how they do in the day time. This is quite perfect for both babies and mummies(so that the milk secreted wouldn't go waste and the babies also get their tummy filled). But the mistake all moms do is, they feed the baby under bright light. The babies are New to this world and it is your responsibility to teach your baby difference between Day and Night. So all that you have to do is just Use a Night Lamp with Less Voltage to feed your baby. Once he/she have done, even though he/she have not gone back to sleep, switch off the light and put him/her back in his/her place.
3. Keep Calm and Stay Quiet.
Babies seems to be perfectly trained in understanding your facial expressions. While feeding them during the night, avoid even smiling at your baby. They would even tempt you to talk to them or laugh at them. But Stay Calm. If possible keep your eyes closed. Even if your baby tries to play, let him/her play alone. Simply lie near your baby and watch him/her calmly.

I hope these steps would help you in making your New Born sleep for Full Night. Above all these Baby needs your Patience. So wait until your baby is used to the routine. Wait for that particular day between 6 - 8 weeks for that miracle to happen. Have a Happy Parenting.
