Points to remember while telling Story to a Toddler

Having a toddler at home I know it is not very easy at all to tell a story to a Toddler.  I thought of sharing few tips that has to be remembered while telling a story to a toddler.  

• Always have the animals and birds(that is kid's all time favorite) as the characters of the story that will make the toddler listen to the story with more interest.
• Stories is the best way to teach a toddler good values. So always end the story with the moral and proper reasoning for it.
• Give proper modulation to the narration. Try to imitate the voices of the animals in conversations(like a rough voice for a lion and soft one for a mouse).
• If possible use animal puppets or toys for corresponding stories.(Avoid such things for bedtime stories since it may cause some distraction).
• Never have a violence line in the story like killing or injuring an animal.(especially in the bedtime story).
• Always have a happy ending for the story that will give some positive  thoughts to the child.
• Try including real facts to the story(like lion that lives in the den..........)which they will learn more happily.

But why should you send your Toddler to a Pre-School?

• Making a Toddler stay inside the house for one whole day would be the toughest thing a mother can do in her life. They are in need of both physical and mental activities throughout the day.
• Having gone for a Pre-school, school will no more be a night mare for them and they would love going to school.
• They learn how to communicate and their language skills get shaped far better in schools than that in home.
• The best point would be, they would have great entertainment in schools since they are there with many children of their age.
• Even at home they would have some quality time, since both the mother and child are now peaceful, happy  and stress free.

Which is the right time?
                Always experts and pediatricians advises to avoid taking out often a child less than two years. This is because their immune system is not fully grown and they have not developed resistant power against all anti-bodies.Their Vaccination chart also gets completely filled  only after their second birthday. So it is advisable to put your Toddler in Pre-school after they have turned two.

Importance of Telling Stories To Toddlers!

Why he has suddenly started to show interest in stories?
             You might be showing him Picture & Word type of books for quite a long time. He is now finding it boring on seeing the usual animals and birds in pictures and in television. He wanted to look into their world and know few things like How they walk, how they sleep and what they eat? The stories in cds and internet will not help him since there wouldn't be proper modulation. Having no Option left out he would start to demand stories from you.


How Could it be Helpful?

• Trust Me! The easiest way to put your Toddler down to sleep is by telling them Bedtime Stories. Just try this is out. When your toddler doesn't gets settled in Bed, Just tell him that you are Going to Tell him a New Story of one of his favorite Animal. 
• This way you could also help them improve their ability to bring things in Imagination. They will be able to bring the pictures of everything we tell them in a story into their Mind. Improving this skill will be a lot more useful when they have lost a toy, they could easily recollect the place where they have miss placed it.(Just for an example).
• The easiest way to Teach them Good Values. Having said that 'They will only know the list of Good values through Stories. They can learn it Only from our way of Living'.
