Handling Pregnancy

Few Tips To Handle Pregnancy in a Better Way

Fatigue

One problem that never can  be resolved!!!For few women even the smell of a boiling rice may cause nausea or some times vomiting. Few may have evening sickness instead of morning sickness. All that could be done is stay sway from cooking!!! It may sound weird. But nothing else could be done towards this. Get the help from your spouse or any one else at home or appoint a temporary maid. But Trust Me!!!!One Fine morning (in the second semester) you may wake up to realize that your Fatigue has left you!!!!

Constipation

The one that predominantly exists in the second trimester. Mainly caused when women starts taking the iron supplements. Iron supplements always contain a very small amount of IRON literally(could be tested with a magnet). However Consumption of that small amount is harmless, it causes constipation for some women(may also create pigmentation changes around neck, nose and below the lower lip). If the trouble exists more than a week it's better to inform the gynecologist. Organic Iron Tablets are also available in market, which could be taken with doctor's knowledge. Adding more fiber rich food to the diet could also help.

Indigestion

Indigestion is mainly caused due to the hormonal changes in the body during pregnancy.
Avoid eating stored foods and prefer eating freshly cooked food.
Drink warm water after each meal that would help for better digestion.
Walk for at least 30 minutes per day.
Split up each meal and eat in small quantity at regular time interval.(instead of 3 meals have 5 or 6 meals a day)

Back Pain and Pelvic Pain

Last trimester!!! Especially the last month. Mainly due to the gradual increase in the baby's weight, which would rest on these bones.
Avoid sitting for a prolonged time in one position. Take enough breaks!!!Have a small walk at regular intervals. Take adequate rest!!!

 Sleeplessness

Listening to light music or reading a book(Novel) would help in giving a better sleep.
If there is some problem sleeping position, try finding a better one.(avoid sleeping in the position that the gynecologist would have advised not to, since that may cause breathing problem for the baby). Try using pillows that are available in market for this purpose.
The Baby is preparing his/her mom for Post Pregnancy(Trust Me!! You may have many sleepless nights after your baby is born. I mean it Literally)

Swelling of Leg

Avoid sitting in one place. Use 'Footrest' to Rest the feet. Walking for one hour per day would help in reducing the swelling.

Note: Few Grandma's Medicine(Patti's Medicine)
1. Fenu Greek porridge: take 1 cup of rice, two tea spoons of Fenu Greek and two tea spoons of moong dhall. Add two cup of water to the above mixture and pressure cooker it for ten minutes. Grind it well by adding some salt and butter milk. Have this porridge weekly thrice.
This will help the baby co-operate better during labor.

2. Roast few Fennel Seeds and dhanya until it turns black(be sure that it doesn't gets burnt). Add some water to it and allow it to boil for 2-3 minutes. Switch off the flame and add some sugar/jaggery/karupatti(preferably) for sweetness. Allow it for few hours(usually it is left for full night)and filter the seeds and drink the water(preferably in empty stomach). This will help in reducing the Leg Swelling.

3. Take 2-3 Dry Fig Fruit and 2-3 walnut regularly along with other dry fruits.

Pregnancy - 'What Is Normal And What Is Not Normal'

Pregnancy is the most special period for all women in their life. 'Unique Also'.

Carrying a life inside her for almost 280 days is beyond human being's imagination. Can anyone 'At least' imagine the changes she has to undergo internally, when even a robot which doesn't have life has to undergo so many processes in it's making?

What is normal
To begin with.. Each Baby Is Different even before they are born, which makes Pregnancy Different for Each Women.

The first trimester begins with lots and lots of joy. People around her would rejoice the happy news. But all that she experiences is simply fatigue. Lots and lots of food aversion, vomiting and giddiness.
This is also a period in which a women feels so insecure and expects a lot of moral support from her family and friends.

Almost for all women fatigue fades out in the second trimester. However for few women it may not stop until the date of delivery. This trimester will be mainly occupied by digestion related problems like acidic trouble, indigestion, constipation etc.,

Back Pain!!!! This would be the main problem for all women in their last trimester. The baby would have grown big and since the baby's weight has to rest on the back bone and latter  on the pelvic bone, she may have pain in those bones. For some women the legs may get swollen often in this trimester.

Apart from the above stated troubles, simply mention any other troubles and for sure at least ten percent of the pregnant women would face it.

What Is Not Normal
  Have a Happy Pregnancy

Why is that nothing has been written under 'What Is Not Normal'. Yes!!! It's Obvious!!!!Everything is Normal in Pregnancy. That is how my Gynecologist used to tell me each time I visited her with a new complaint.  All that a pregnant women can do is let her gynecologist know about the changes in her body who will be the only person to decide whether it is normal or not.

Believe It Or Not!!!! She will for sure pat herself, in near future, saying 'It's Really Worth The Pain I Had' at many special Moments.
The Moment she sees her baby for the first time.
The Moment she touches her new born's little finger.
The Moment her new born smiles at her for the first time.
The Moment her baby calls her 'amma/ma' for the first time.
The Moment her baby stops crying as soon as he/she sees her entering the room.
The Moment her toddler runs and hugs her tightly, even when she has left her child back home only for a hour or two.
The Moment her toddler wipes her tears in her eyes and do something funny to make her laugh.
No One except her can experience such priceless moments. She doesn't need any photographs or recordings for these memories. Isn't her pains are really worth after getting so many valuable moments that she could cherish throughout her life??????

A well handled pregnancy will always lead to a better labor!!
